Dr. Alex Shaw received his degree in Dentistry from the University of the Pacific where he was awarded Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society clinical excellence award, the Charles A. Ertola award for outstanding performance in clinical removable prosthodontics, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists award, among others. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Shaw practiced dentistry in San Francisco and was a faculty member in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Implant Clinic at the University of the Pacific. In 2007, he and his family moved to Taipei where he maintains a busy practice focusing in aesthetic, restorative, and implant dentistry.
Aside from his doctoral degree in Dentistry, Dr. Shaw also earned a master’s degree in Craniofacial Biology from University of Southern California, and a master’s degree in Bioinformatics from Oxford University. Among his professional achievements, he has publications as author and co-author in various prestigious dental and medical journals, he has also lectured internationally on digital technology in dental implantology. Dr. Shaw has appeared on the cover of the Journal of American College of Dentists and was featured on the cover story of the D.paper, a premier dental journal in Taiwan.
Dr. Shaw is highly active in continuing education courses to bring top-notch dental treatment to his patients. He is committed in giving every one of his patients the highest quality, using the best materials and technologies available in dentistry today, all in a very personalized, friendly, and caring atmosphere.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and volunteering for the dental care of children with MPS.
